Smoking in the Square March 2-3

Feb
22

Hello everyone,

To let everyone know and call forth all volunteers, on March 2nd and 3rd the Knights of Columbus are hosting “Smoking in the Square” in Downtown Pensacola’s Seville Square. It’s a chili cook off, and there will be a lot of people there. Florida Teens for Life has been offered a free table set up for us to pass out Pro-Life information and show our faces as youth who stand for life. Please, and as soon as possible, contact me (Click here for email) if you are able volunteer some of your time on that Saturday or Sunday to relax with some friends and speak to people will be coming up and asking us questions. It will be a great way to practice what we just learned at the Apologetics Training too. We need an ample number of volunteers spaced throughout the day so we have a few people there at a time, so once again let me know if you are able to.

Thanks so much and God Bless,
Hunter

“The Pill Kills”

Feb
10

This is really interesting and striking information brought again to my attention, thanks to Mrs. Kathleen. It’s really important that we realize that contraception is an issue that runs as deep as abortion and even deeper. When we say yes to contraception, the next step is saying yes to abortion. Check out http://thepillkills.org/ to find out more about how birth control and all forms of contraception kill not only babies, but also women, the environment and this year’s focus: marriage. Thanks everyone. I hope you all get a chance to look at this and that you take that chance.

Upcoming Meeting!

Hi, this is Bernadette, the new director of Teens for Life.  I am so honored to become the new leader of this group, as I have already witnessed your courage and conviction on the front lines battling against the culture of death!  Your energy and passion for life is inspiring, and it reminds me of the first time I dipped my foot into the pro-life mission field.

As a junior in Pace High, I remember having the strong desire to stand up for the weak.  One time, after my mom had told me what abortion was and that there was an abortion mill in Pensacola, I decided to stop there and pray for the unborn.  Doing that made me feel so strong, so fulfilled, so close to Christ.  After being scolded by my mom to never do that alone again (oops), I began to really desire to become part of a pro-life group so I could safely pray in front of abortion clinics and help save lives.

I think that being teens, we want to do something BIG.  We want to make an imprint; put our strength and energy toward something meaningful.   I can tell you without a doubt that you are doing something that is truly changing the world.  The prayers you pray, the help you offer, the witness to hope and love you bring to the darkest place on earth have consequences that surpass this life.  Any of you want to see the movie “Captain America?” (or “American Man” as I might say… lol)  Skip that, you all are “Super Teens.”  Remember that, you are living heroes – not fictional ones with silly skin-tight suits and underwear on the outside – but everyday saints.

With that said, we have a mission ahead of us, and we need planning.  Two weeks from now, 6PM Friday July 15th, we will be meeting at my house for a pizza party/meet-n-greet/planning meeting.  We will be discussing one VERY exciting event coming up this August in which our group has been hand-picked to be a part of!  All you have to do is:

R.S.V.P. on Facebook!

…and invite a friend to come with you! See you there!

Meet International Apologist, Stephanie Gray!

Feb
14

International Apologist, Stephanie Gray, from the Canadian Center for Bioethics Reform (CBR) will be dialoguing with University of West Florida students during an “open Microphone” session today and tomorrow where students ask questions on the microphone.

As a part of a three week tour of the State of Florida, CBR’s Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) is visiting conveniently located UWF.   Tuesday, February 15th will be the last day to hear and see Stephanie.  My young sons and I were on campus today and witnessed a very receptive student body.   Our family has the great privilege of hosting members of CBR this week and they are the most compassionate individuals I’ve met.

I encourage everyone to come out and meet Stephanie and all the staff of CBR!

Witness to the March For Life

Jan

For Life!

Join us for the Pilgrimage for Life!

Jan

March with Florida Teens for Life in Washington, DC on 1-24-11 to give your witness to the sacredness of human life.  This is not just a day off from school or a field trip for our teens, but it is a true pilgrimage.   On Monday, January 24, 2011 we will join hundreds of thousands of Americans across the nation in DC for the annual March for Life.

The March for Life speaks for itself.

As a pilgrim, you will return a changed person – more emboldened and alive with truth.  As a member of Florida Teens for Life, we’ve prayed in front of our local abortion clinics and experienced that fragile line of life and death.  It’s in those moments we ask the Lord to spare lives.  We plead for the innocent.  We return home changed.

The March for Life allows us to take our witness to our nation’s capital.  It demonstrates our commitment to life and demonstrates to our political leaders that the Culture of Life will triumph over the Culture of Death.

We are organizing transportation.  Some of us are flying.  Airline tickets can still be purchased.  Some of us are carpooling to the event.  We have a carpool leaving on Friday, January 21st, if you are interested.  We encourage you to contact us via Facebook if you are interested in participating.  Coming from Florida, some of us will be making personal sacrifices to attend the March; so, please let us know if you need assistance.

Praying for Life!

Dec
16

In our own day and age, we have innocent lives being taken,  from their mother’s womb.  This will take place from 1-6pm today at the 9th ave American Family Planning abortion facility.  Tomorrow from 6am-1pm @ American Family
Planning abortion facility.  AMS of Pensacola will either take these innocent lives tomorrow from 6am-4pm or Saturday, or Sunday, same hours.
Father, forgive them for they know now what they do. Please take some time this week to BE THERE in PRAYER outside either abortion facility in this week before we celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus.  These children never get a birthday and so we need to be there on their last day here on earth, if but only to be present and pray with them as they enter eternal paradise, and spend Christmas with Jesus.  Let us especially pray for the moms and dad’s of these precious little ones, who will forever mourn the death of their sweet child this week before Christmas 2010.
